Under pressure, Ravetti's drilling devices are among the best products for this type of operation on the current market. Their main advantage lies in their ability to maintain a constant torque, ensuring consistent pressure during internal drilling. This enables faster drilling processes, extends the lifespan of cutting tools, and reduces operator effort during manual operation.
For diameters ranging from ¾" to 6", circular cutters are used, either bimetal or HSS with a wall thickness of 1.6 mm, or HSS/CT cutters with carbide teeth. Alternatively, cutters with tungsten carbide teeth can also be used.
Drills with a characteristic 26 cm drilling stroke are designed for cutting into gas and water pipelines with a wall thickness of up to DN 6" (140 mm) under pressure up to 12 bar.
We offer a wide range of models for work on gas and water pipelines made of steel, cast iron, polyethylene, PVC, concrete, or asbestos cement. The choice depends on the size of the drilled openings, the pressure of the medium in the pipeline, and the environment where the pipeline is located.
All drilling devices are made from high-quality steel with a double-layer zinc coating in a gold color. This ensures the best possible protection for the product and long-term durability. The devices can also be supplied in stainless steel versions for applications in water or contaminated environments where standard models cannot be used.
For drilling openings up to 3", manual operation is typically used; for openings up to 6", pneumatic or hydraulic drives are employed. For larger diameters, hydraulic drives are exclusively used.
The drilling technology, which we have been perfecting for over 40 years, allows for pipeline drilling from ND ½" to 48" under pressures up to 100 bar and temperatures up to 180°C.
All types of drilling devices can be used for water, gas, or oil with ambient temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C and medium temperatures between 0°C and +50°C when using standard seals. When using special Teflon-based seals, the medium temperature can range from 0°C to +130°C. The hydraulic unit model CS/6 is suitable for drilling openings up to DN 10"/250, while the more powerful CS/13 model is recommended for larger openings.
For StopSystem™ applications up to DN 150, the standard drilling device model 30/255 is supplied. For larger dimensions, we will recommend the most suitable drilling device based on the pipeline medium pressure and size.
