Stop/System®
Our patented STOP SYSTEM is the result of many years of experience with the method of expanding plugs and has been designed based on the safety needs of our customers.
In every company managing gas networks, the need for pipeline closures is constantly increasing to allow for the installation/replacement of valves, insulation joints, network expansion, or replacement of damaged sections.
Three alternative solutions are possible:
- Interrupting gas supply, resulting in shutdown costs and the slow and critical process of restarting by flushing the pipelines and customer systems;
- Using a mobile gas storage unit to avoid any interruption of gas supply, which incurs higher costs and requires completion within a limited time frame;
- Using suitable equipment to stop the gas flow in the required section of the network without interrupting the gas supply.
With the characteristics of the third solution in mind, we developed our patented STOP SYSTEM, which allows pipeline blockage without interrupting the gas supply, offering the following advantages:
- MAXIMUM SAFETY
- NO INTERRUPTION OF GAS SUPPLY
- EASY HANDLING AND USAGE
- MINIMAL EXCAVATION REQUIREMENTS
- QUICK USAGE IN EMERGENCIES
- LOW OPERATIONAL COSTS
- MAXIMUM SAFETY
Safety was the primary feature considered during the development of the STOP SYSTEM.
Small gas leaks are usually the most critical aspect of pipeline closure.
THEY CAN BE CAUSED BY:
- A wide range of internal diameter tolerances;
- Longitudinal welding protrusions;
- Hard-to-remove scale.
Our expanding plug mechanism is the result of many years of experience in developing and manufacturing pipe plugs. It accommodates a wide range of tolerances for any nominal diameter because the trapezoidal cross-section rubber ring can expand and be compressed against the internal walls of the pipe, creating a large contact area and eliminating potential leaks.
- NO INTERRUPTION OF GAS SUPPLY
When two units are used on the same pipeline, fluid pressure can be maintained because the STOP SYSTEM is designed to allow bypass piping to connect to the ball valve mounted on the STOP SYSTEM body.
- EASY HANDLING AND USAGE
The simplified design of our equipment also considers the limited space operators typically have. Our customers immediately appreciated the compact and straightforward components of the STOP SYSTEM. The entire device can be used in both horizontal and vertical positions.
- MINIMAL EXCAVATION REQUIRED
Less free space is needed, even when a bypass system composed of two machines and double piping is required.
- EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
Our compact and lightweight devices require fewer personnel and less time to use, particularly in emergencies.
- LOW OPERATIONAL COSTS
The simplified design of STOP SYSTEM components and the necessary fittings allows us to offer the most competitive system for this application.
